You don’t need a big shop or an expensive website to start selling online — a marketplace gives you buyers straight away. The hardest question is what to sell. Here are ideas suited to the Kyrgyz market and the rules for choosing.
5 rules for choosing a product
- There is demand. Do people search for it? Look at similar products on the marketplace and at the bazaar.
- You know it well. If you understand the product, it’s easier to describe it, answer questions and check quality.
- It ships easily. Light, non-fragile and non-perishable products mean lower costs and fewer problems.
- There is a margin. After cost, delivery, commission and packaging there must be profit left. More in how to set a price.
- It is legal. Avoid banned goods and those requiring special permits.
